Migrant italian and andean women
shared identities
Keywords:
Life story, Andean identities, Memories, FlavorsAbstract
The present work is based on an Art and History project carried out in 2010 that aimed to show the successful life of Venezuelan women who had migrated within their own national territory, specifically to the great Caracas, taking with them their own cultural identity and that inherited from its immigrant ancestors, resulting in the construction of a new urban narrative based on a hybridization from multiculturalism. As a methodology, the collection of these testimonies was used, being edited in short-term audiovisuals which would be used as part of the museum educational project, incorporating schools and communities. On this occasion, this experience is told from the Los Andes Chapter, as a life story, with emphasis on processes of cultural identity and social memory, based on the culinary configuration of Italian heritage and Trujillo flavors as other urban knowledge.
