a comparative analysis of the Brazilian and American museums biographies to understand the meaning of these institutions in both countries

This article uses the comparative method to analyze the biography of American and Brazilian museums. It wants to understand the differences in “museological” practices of these countries in order to understand how these markets are constituted and reproduced in their societies. Therefore based on the study on issues such as where museums come from in these societies and how to configure, followed the careers to date, the recognized periods, existing cultural markets, the transformations in until present time and biographical possibilities inherent in reality of this type of institution. Assumes that biographies are ways which can understand the culture of a particular group and the relationship with a property, allows the understanding of how the moral values are established and naturalize.
