Abstract

The book now being published under the title "Na aurora da literatura brasileira", edited by Roberto Acízelo de Souza, not only celebrates an existing partnership between the author and Caetés Publishing, but also focuses precisely on gaps in the foundational canon of Brazilian literature and its intended readership. Given that the editor is a professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and Caetés is a commercial publisher, the publication also stands out whilst reinforcing a certain practice within the publishing market, namely that of channelling academic output with institutional support, hence the inclusion of funding agencies in the publications, such as the CNPq, CAPES or the state research funding foundations, including FAPERJ, which endorses the current publication, given that both the publisher and the volume’s editor are based in Rio de Janeiro.
