A HISTÓRIA DA LITERATURA INFANTIL E JUVENIL BRASILEIRA E A ESCOLARIZAÇÃO DA LITERATURA:
ENCONTROS, DESENCONTROS E POSSIBILIDADES ATRAVÉS DO TEMPO
Abstract
ABSTRACT: The challenges of teaching children's and youth literature in the Brazilian educational context are vast, especially in high school. Based on a bibliographic methodological approach, this article investigates the history of teaching literature and theories related to the topic. Among the theorists covered, names such as Cecília Meireles (1951), Nelly Novaes Coelho (1966), Magda Soares (1999), Cosson (2006), Kleiman (1989), Souza and Girotto (2011), among others, stand out. The analysis considers the importance of literature education, the obstacles faced by teachers in mediating reading and the indispensability of appropriate teaching strategies, both for the experience of literary reading in the classroom and for the development of reading competence. The text also highlights the relevance of considering the social and cultural context of students, as well as their previous experiences, to contribute to the elaboration of meanings when reading literary works.
