Keywords:

As a part of the Oral History project “Arabic Coffee Memories” (2017-2019), Coffee Museum’s researchers documented narratives of Arab immigrants in Santos and São Paulo, SP, trying to identify the coffee traditions that these immigrants brought with them due their displacements. It was proposed to link these experiences along the declaration of the Arabic coffee through the Unesco’s report “Arabic coffee: a symbol of generosity”. The present article intends to make public a bibliographic review of the Arabic Coffee and its presence (and absence) in the State of São Paulo, besides presenting a brief biography of each person interviewed and a cross-checking information between the registered narratives registered. There will be raised some questions about the reception, solidarity networks in their process of displacements, as well as questions about the Arabic coffee that were registered in their testimonies, like the brewing methods, linguistic confusions, rituals, traditions.
